megoosh

Terms of use

The short version: megoosh gives you meal ideas that leave out the foods you tell her to avoid. She isn't medical advice, she only knows what you enter, and you can walk away with everything deleted whenever you like. The detail follows.

Who we are, and what these terms do

megoosh is a service of TESTme Health Limited, trading as megoosh (company number SC861611) ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us for your use of megoosh. By ticking the box at sign-up and using the app, you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use megoosh. They sit alongside our privacy notice, which explains what we do with your information.

Who can use megoosh

megoosh is an invite-only pilot for a small group of adults in the UK. You need to be 18 or over, living in the UK, and using the invitation we sent you. It's for your own personal use, one person per account, so please don't share your account or pass your sign-in link to anyone else.

What megoosh is, and what she isn't

This is the most important section, so it's the plainest. megoosh is a guidance and convenience tool that suggests everyday meals leaving out the foods you've told her to avoid. She is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for your GP, dietitian or consultant. She does not make food safe for people with diagnosed allergies. If you have a diagnosed allergy, keep following the medical advice you already have and treat megoosh as nothing more than a source of meal ideas. Nothing in megoosh should be used to decide whether a food is safe for a medical reason.

Your food list is yours to keep complete

megoosh only knows what you tell her. If you don't add a food, she will treat it as fine to use. Keeping your list of foods to avoid accurate and up to date is your responsibility, and it's the single thing that most affects whether megoosh is useful to you. If your circumstances change, or you get new advice from a health professional, please update your list before relying on anything megoosh suggests.

Recipes, and the safety check

Recipes are drafted with the help of an AI model and then checked, ingredient by ingredient, by our own separate safety check before you ever see them. That check is deliberately cautious: if it can't confidently recognise an ingredient, it throws the recipe away rather than show it to you. We've built it carefully and we test it constantly, but it is an automated safeguard applied on a best-efforts basis to a pilot product, not a guarantee. Please still read the ingredients before you cook. Recipes are also just suggestions, not nutritional advice, and we don't promise they're balanced, complete or right for your particular needs.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, so there's no password to forget or leak. That does mean access to your email means access to your account, so please keep your email secure and let us know quickly if you think someone else has got in. Please give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.

Using megoosh fairly

Please use megoosh for its intended purpose and nothing else. Don't try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer it; don't scrape or bulk-copy the recipe library; don't use it to do anything unlawful; and don't attempt to get at anyone else's data. We monitor for misuse and can suspend or close an account that's causing harm.

This is a pilot

megoosh is an early test version, offered free to a small invited group so we can learn from real use. Things will change, features will come and go, and there will be rough edges. We don't promise the app will always be available, error-free, or that anything you've saved will be kept indefinitely, though we'll always give you reasonable notice before making a change that would lose your data. We can change or withdraw the pilot at any time.

Who owns what

We own megoosh, the recipe library and everything else in the app, and we give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use it for as long as you're in the pilot. What you enter, your food list, your preferences and your saved recipes, stays yours; you just give us permission to use it to run the service for you, as set out in the privacy notice. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve megoosh without owing you anything for it.

Ending it

You can leave whenever you like. Delete your account yourself at any time in the app (About Me → "Delete my account") and everything about you goes at once. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the pilot ends, or if we need to for legal or safety reasons.

If something goes wrong

We'll always do our job with reasonable care and skill, and nothing here limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. You have legal rights as a consumer that these terms cannot take away. Beyond that, because megoosh is a free pilot product, we're not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, for losses arising from your food list being incomplete or out of date, or for decisions you take about your health that should have involved a health professional.

Changes, and the law that applies

We may update these terms as the pilot develops; if a change matters to you we'll tell you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction, though as a UK consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the part of the UK you live in.
